The Park
The Park at Edgewold
The park is roughly an acre and a third of woodland and open space sitting at the heart of the neighborhood. The creek runs through it; a pedestrian bridge crosses it; mature hardwoods canopy most of it. The flat lower area has hosted everything from the original swim club to current-day neighborhood gatherings.
Title to the park is held by the Edgewold Civic Association, Inc., the Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation incorporated in 1954. Households in the neighborhood are members of the association.

What's here
- About 1.36 acres of common ground
- Mature tree canopy — oaks, maples, beeches
- A creek corridor
- A pedestrian footbridge
- Open gathering area where the pool once stood
- Stone retaining wall along the upper edge
Stewardship — past and ongoing
The park is maintained entirely by residents. Mowing, leaf cleanup, storm debris, drainage, tree care, and the occasional larger project all run through the association.
The work is more sustainable when more residents take part. The board operates on a small budget by design — the work happens because residents take part in it directly, not because there's a management company to outsource to.
Current park projects
Bridge repair
The pedestrian footbridge across the creek needs repair. Assessment is in progress.
Retaining wall
The block retaining wall along the upper edge of the park has begun to lean. Review is the next step before any work begins.
Hazardous tree removal
One large dead tree posing a potential risk to nearby homes is being scheduled for removal as a safety priority.
Helping out
